After working high school summers with general contractors, Mike accepted a full football scholarship to the University of Southern Mississippi while obtaining a Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering. Mike’s involvement with his football team garnered him a tremendous amount of discipline and superb leadership abilities which has been a true asset for the company. After graduation, he embarked on a long career in the construction industry. His responsibilities include managing operations, supervising employees through the construction process, as well as estimating and scheduling materials and contractors. Mike and Melissa, his wife of 21 years, enjoy going to the beach and spending time outdoors with their children Aimee and Ben.
Joy Johnson
Office Manager
Joy V. Johnson was born and raised in Georgetown, SC where she still resides with her husband Keith and their daughter Katherine Ann. She has been employed with Michael Poulin since March of 1997. As Office Manager, her responsibilities include job costing, budget control, financial management, accounts receivable and payroll. Realizing her zeal and love for construction, she studied and received her General Contractor’s license in 2000. Joy enjoys all aspects of this specialized business and states that her position with Poulin Custom Builders is just one of many blessings God has given her in life and that it is an honor to work with such an amazing team. Outside of her work, she enjoys reading, shopping and boating with her family and friends.
Eric Gustafson
Project Manager
After spending 25 years of his life in Massachusetts, Eric moved to Murrells Inlet in March of 1991 where he now resides with his wife of 25 years, Laura, son EJ and their 5 dogs. Their daughter Kayleigh now lives in Florida while working at Walt Disney World. Eric has been part of Michael Poulin’s team since 1991. He works with subs and vendors daily, while keeping jobs on time and within budget. Eric is an avid Boston sports fan and enjoys listening to various genres of music. He and Laura spend much of their time outdoors with their dogs, as well as traveling and photography.
